MacBook Diagnostic Prices

If your MacBook is not turning on, behaving erratically, or has suffered liquid damage, the first step is a proper diagnostic. This is not a quick surface-level check. At iCorrect, we run a full inspection of your MacBook’s battery, charging system, logic board, and internal circuitry, right down to microchip level.

We specialise in the faults that Apple and other shops cannot or will not fix. Devices that are declared unrepairable elsewhere are where our work begins. We disassemble your MacBook, perform detailed power tests, inspect the logic board under a microscope, and pinpoint the exact cause of the issue. This allows us to offer a precise, targeted repair that restores function without unnecessary part replacements.

You will receive a full report and a fixed-price quote. Then it is your call. If the repair cost is high, we will advise you clearly on the pros and cons. We believe repair is nearly always better than replacement, and we are one of the few teams who can actually prove that.

MacBook Model Number

Need help identifying your MacBook?

Check the model number printed on the underside of your MacBook. It starts with the letter “A” followed by four digits. Use this number to quickly identify your exact model and ensure you select the correct repair or service.

Our Process

This is where we do our best work. Whether your MacBook is completely dead, showing no display, or has already been declared unrepairable by Apple or another repair shop, our job is to find out exactly why.

Every diagnostic starts with a power intake test using a high-precision ammeter. We then carry out a full visual inspection, disassemble the device, and move into microscope-level board testing. We check for burnt components, failed capacitors, broken solder joints, and signs of previous failed repairs. Nothing is missed.

At the end of the diagnostic, you will receive a detailed report with clear findings and a confirmed quote. If you choose not to go ahead with the repair, we can still offer a trade-in value against a replacement device. Either way, you walk away with answers.

What is a MacBook diagnostic and why do I need one?

A diagnostic is a complete inspection and test of your MacBook to identify exactly what is wrong. This includes testing for power issues, liquid damage, screen faults, or internal failures.

We begin with a power draw test to see how your MacBook responds. Then we disassemble the device and run full board-level diagnostics under a microscope. From there, we identify the cause of the issue and provide a clear repair plan and fixed quote.

My MacBook is dead. Can you still run a diagnostic?

Yes. This is the type of case we handle daily. If your MacBook has no power and is completely unresponsive, we carry out board-level testing to find out why. Often it is a failed power circuit, a burnt chip, or liquid damage to the charging rail. We do not guess. We test.

Can you tell me what is wrong if Apple could not?

Yes. Apple only runs modular checks. If a board has failed, they do not inspect it, they replace it. We go to microchip level. That is why we often recover devices other shops call unrepairable.

How long does a MacBook diagnostic take?

Diagnostics take two to three working days. This includes full intake testing, disassembly, microscope inspection, and report writing. If you need a faster turnaround, we offer an express diagnostic on request.

How much does it cost?

We charge £49 including VAT. This covers the entire process: internal disassembly, power rail testing, microscope diagnostics, and a full report with findings and fixed-price quote. You will know exactly what is wrong before spending anything further.

Do you check the logic board or just major parts?

We always inspect the logic board. That is where most shops stop, and where we begin. We identify faults at component level, including burnt chips, broken solder joints, or blown fuses. This level of precision is what sets our repairs apart.

Can you diagnose liquid damage properly?

Yes. Liquid damage is one of the most common and misunderstood issues we see. We check for corrosion, shorted circuits, failed connections, and confirm that the repair will not just work but last. We repair to factory quality or not at all.

Will I be charged if my MacBook cannot be repaired?

In the rare case we cannot repair it, we will offer you another option. That could be a replacement board, or a trade-in value against a replacement MacBook. We will preserve your data whenever possible and help you find the best path forward.

Do I get a full report after the diagnostic?

Yes. You receive a breakdown of what we found, what caused the issue, and how it can be resolved. For liquid damage, we include photos of affected areas and a full plan for repair. There is no vague feedback. You get full transparency.

If I do not go ahead, can I still trade it in?

Yes. We run an official trade-in programme. If you decide not to repair, we can offer a value for recycling the MacBook with us. If we have a suitable replacement in stock, we can apply that value as credit toward an upgrade.
