iPad Charging Port Repair Prices

If your iPad has stopped charging, only powers on when the cable is angled, or will not recognise your charger at all, the charging port may be damaged. This is especially common on newer iPads with USB-C connectors, where a single bent or damaged pin can interrupt the power flow entirely.

At iCorrect, we test the charging port using a high-precision ammeter to measure how much power is flowing through the device. If it fails, we replace the charging port using original parts and restore charging performance to factory levels. If the fault is not in the port itself, we upgrade to a full diagnostic and check the entire charging circuit including the battery and charging IC. Most iPad charging issues are fixable and do not require replacing the whole device.

Our Process

Charging issues on iPads can be frustrating, especially when it is unclear whether the fault lies in the cable, the port, or the logic board. That is why we test every device thoroughly before any repair begins. USB-C charging faults are far more common than older Lightning port issues, but both are fully repairable.

We never guess. If the port is the issue, we replace it with an original part. If the fault lies deeper, we identify it and build a repair plan around what is actually needed. Most charging port repairs are completed in 2 to 3 working days, giving us enough time to run proper diagnostics, replace the port cleanly, and carry out full post-repair testing. We do not rush the job. We do it right.

FAQs

Learn more about iCorrect, the essential repair services that we offer and the warranties that come with each repair.

How much does it cost to repair an iPad charging port?

Charging port repairs typically cost between £119 and £159 depending on your model. This includes full intake testing, disassembly, original part replacement, and post-repair checks.

If we find that the fault lies in the logic board or charging IC, we will upgrade to a full diagnostic and quote accordingly. Either way, you will know exactly what is wrong and how much it costs before we go ahead.

How do I know if my iPad charging port needs repair?

Common signs include:

  • The iPad does not recognise a charger
  • The device only charges when the cable is held at an angle
  • The battery percentage never increases
  • Charging is slow or intermittent
  • The port feels loose or has visible damage

We use a power ammeter to confirm whether the issue is the port or something deeper. If your iPad shows any of the above signs, it is worth getting it checked.

Do you use original parts for iPad charging port repairs?

Yes. We only use original ports, reclaimed and tested in-house to meet Apple factory standards. These parts are fitted using the proper soldering and reassembly process to ensure lasting performance.

We do not use aftermarket ports or generic replacements.

Can a damaged charging port cause other issues?

Yes. A worn or faulty port can send erratic voltage into the iPad, affecting the charging IC or logic board. This can cause overheating, charging instability, or power failure.

That is why we test every part of the power system when your iPad comes in. We want to catch and fix the issue before it becomes worse.

How long does an iPad charging port repair take?

Most charging port repairs take between 2 to 3 working days. This gives us time to run pre-checks, complete the repair, and carry out post-repair testing to ensure the fix is stable.

We do not rush. We believe in fixing it properly the first time.

What if the issue is not the charging port?

If our power test shows that the charging port is working correctly, we upgrade the repair to a full diagnostic. This includes testing the logic board, charging IC, and battery.

We will provide a clear report and quote before proceeding. No guesswork, no surprises.

Is it safe to repair the charging port on an iPad?

Yes, it is safe because we complete hundreds of these repairs and follow precise procedures. Apple uses special adhesive to bond the screen and housing together with no screws, which is why the Apple Store may say it is not possible to repair. We complete the port replacement without causing damage to any other part of your iPad.

Your data remains safe and your iPad is returned fully tested.

Can I keep using my iPad if the port is loose or faulty?

We do not recommend it. A faulty port can cause power instability or further damage. If you have to wiggle the cable to charge, stop using it and book it in. That strain can escalate a simple port repair into a full logic board issue.

 What does your warranty cover?

All iPad charging port repairs are covered by our two-year warranty. This includes issues with the port, fitting, or any failure related to the original repair.

It does not cover accidental damage, liquid ingress, or faults caused by third-party chargers. If something goes wrong that should not, we will fix it.

Can a bad charger damage my iPad port?

Yes. Non-original or poor-quality chargers can damage the port or cause voltage spikes that affect your iPad’s logic board. If your charging issue started after using a new charger, that may be the cause.

We always test your device with verified original cables to confirm the true fault.
